Damage Control

OK, so I celebrated my birthday this weekend. Several days of eating out and desserts.... it is time for some damage control this week! My goal is to be good this week and then weigh next Monday morning. Wish me luck!

Cinnamon Roll Shake: (1) Vanilla Meal Replacement Shake, splash of vanilla extract, generous amount of cinnamon. Next time I think I will add a banana for thickness and to make it more filling.

Down one pant size this month!

So happy to say I am down one pant size after one month! I have quite a few clothes in that size that haven't been worn in a year or two. So, I feel like I treated myself to a shopping spree without even leaving the house.

Pumpkin Pie Shake

Here is my first shot at a Pumkin Pie Shake: (1) Vanilla Meal Replacement Shake with 1/4 cup canned pumpkin, 1/8 tsp cinnamon, and a dash of ground ginger and cloves. Pretty Good! I think the next time I am going to up the pumpkin to 1/2 cup and add a little more spices.

10 pounds lost!

I have lost 10 pounds! Yea! I think the Thermoplus and Slim really helped me out last week. I have felt really good and can't wait to see what happens with a few more weeks under my belt!

My shake this morning is a little naughty! Vanilla Meal Replacement Shake with 1/2 banana and 1 tablespoon of sugar free/calorie free chocolate syrup. Just what I needed to get my Monday started!

Feeling Great!

I don't know what kicked in this week... but I feel extra good! I think it must be just being consistent with giving my body healthy food and good supplements the last two weeks. Another benefit from good nutrition is my nails are looking great and growing fast!

I want to come up with a pumpkin or ginger shake. I love those lattes at Starbucks when they are "in season"! I would love to recreate those flavors as part of my healthy breakfast...

Strawberry/Banana Berry Shake

My shake this morning is the Berry shake with about 4 frozen strawberries and half a frozen banana. Very yummy!

The key to me following any type of exercise or eating routine is variety. I go stir crazy and fall off the wagon if something is too repetitive. I like that the Meal Replacement Shakes from Advocare make a great base for me to add different ingredients and flavors to.

I started adding Slim to my days this week. I am excited to see what results come from adding a new product to my daily routine!

Week 2 of being back on track!

I am so lucky to have a husband that is on this journey with me! He has been my workout partner and we are pretty good at encouraging one another. His weekday schedule may change drastically in the next week and our morning workouts may have to move to the evenings for the next 6 months. That is going to be a big challenge for me. I am definitely a morning person and start going downhill after 4:00 PM. I see some Spark in my future...



I saw a four pound drop last week, but none this week. That is a typical pattern for me: a drop one week and none the next. The hard thing is to stay motivated on the week where the scale does not drop. Even though I know that is typical for me, it is still discouraging to not see the scale reflect the hard work put in all week.



Are you a fan of Jillian Michaels? It seems most people either love or hate her. I read her book Master Your Metabolism and was very impressed. We subscribe to her website for our weekly circuit training workouts. She is going to have a new TV show where she moves in with a family for a week to get them going in the right direction with diet, exercise, finances, etc. Should be interesting!

Orange Vanilla Shake

I tried a new shake combo this morning. (1) vanilla meal replacement shake, 2 tablespoons orange juice concentrate, (1) small, peeled orange and a splash of vanilla extract. Pretty good! I think (1) more tablespoon of the orange juice concentrate would have been even better.

Off and Running!

I started getting back on track last week after getting out of routine over the holidays. Why don't I remember how good it feels to get in the workouts, eat healthy, and have a regular sleep schedule? Advocare is another component in how I feel. I got so much stuff done this weekend because I had the energy to get off the couch and get going! (It turned out to be a much better thing to do than watching the entire Dallas Cowboy game anyway. Maybe next year will be their
year?)

New Year, New Me?!

Well, it is off to start a new year and get back to work. I seem to have the same resolutions each year: fit exercise into my schedule, eat better, lose weight, keep a clean house, be more efficient at work, see friends and family more, etc...

I am trying something different. I bought a rebounder mini trampoline and plan to incorporate that into my weekly workout schedule. It seems I always need something new to keep me interested!
